My Writing Process Blog Tour!

Helloooo, readers and/or fellow bloggers! It is a couple days until the Ides of May! Oh dear… wait, that should be Ides of March. Wrong month… Anyhow, I digress!

I am excited and honored to be invited to the My Writing Process Blog Tour! I was invited by Ada of More Food, Please! Thank you, Ada! Ada’s blog has some nice restaurant excursions and recipes (especially those professional look macaroon and wrapping ones). Those pictures will make your mouth water. :p

So, what exactly is this mysterious blog tour? I was clueless too! Well, it’s really more of a relay marathon as opposed to a rock star or sports tour. It’s basically a “pass the torch” on each date to give bloggers opportunities to showcase and share their blogs as well as pass the baton and spotlight to others bloggers! So, these are the basic steps: 1)  another blogger nominates you and tells you which date you will be making your blog tour post, 2) You agree and prepare your post as well as find a few other bloggers you would like to feature in your post, 3) Write your post to thank your nominator, answer four questions, and then provide the feature presentation of the bloggers you are passing the torch to!

Ah, so now that I’ve explained the general process, here are the questions that are to be answered.

1. What am I working on?
I recently just moved to another place, but there has been a lot of flooding lately in the area. Let’s just say…most of my belongings are still in boxes or were placed back in boxes and stacked to prevent my stuff getting wet. So, my next step is unpacking once the flooding is gone…and hopefully gone forever! (I wish). It’s sad, but it took me a week to find my toothpaste. Don’t worry… I did have toothpaste to use during that week before I found my packed toothpaste.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I started the blog off to be a DIY blog, but then I realize everyone is DIYing in some way whether it comes to writing or cooking or etc… So, it’s become a DIY blog on anything. I try to focus on food and crafts.  I also tend to be informal when I write and slip in some bad puns, which you’ll probably realize if you read them.
3. Why do I write what I do?
I enjoyed writing when I was younger, but then school, work, and other responsibilities took over. Blogging is a way for me to get back into writing and explore “blogging” in general since I’m relatively new to it. It is also a way for me to share without using social media such as Facebook or Twitter. As for the blog posts, in addition to sharing, I’d like to keep a record for the future on stuff I’ve done….just in case all my stuff gets flooded. -.-;
4. How does your writing process work?
There isn’t much structure here.  I just tend to write if I see something interesting or if I want to write about something I created. If I need pictures, I take care of those first before completing the writing. If there is some research involved, I’ll take care of that too. I’ll write whatever the wind whispers to me…haha…just kidding.
Well, that’s enough on me! Let’s move the spot light onto these bloggers, who may choose to feature themselves next week!

LFFL has some amusing outtakes on life, food, and fashion. While some of her posts may highlight things we all find distasteful, she always finds a way to be amusing about it.
The Doodle House follows a couple in Austin, Texas, who have been remodeling their own home DIY! Check their blog out for nice ideas.
Curls & Carrots‘s Shanna always has some nice concoctions and recipes on those tasty concoctions to share. Check out her blog for yumminess for sweets and savories alike!
Oh, and instead of popcorn, in lieu of summer coming….have some of this. It’s an interesting idea…probably not too healthy, but what can you expect from a cake made of ice cream sandwiches!

WordPress Family Award

Sorry for the delay! A few weeks ago, I was nominated for the WordPress Family Award from Ada of More Food, Please! Only now have I gotten my act together in life and gotten back into blogging.  Thank you, Ada! Ada has an awesome blog about food and restaurant outings and has made yummies such as pumpkin cheesecake! Check out her blog for the recipe and pictures!

This award was created by Shaun at http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com:

This is an award for everyone who is part of the “Word Press Family” I start this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love and a caring side only WordPress can. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question and not make things a competition amazes me here. I know I have been given many awards, but I wanted to leave my own legacy on here by creating my own award, as many have done before. This represents “Family” we never meet, but are there for us as family. It is my honour to start this award.

The rules are:
1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your WordPress experience and family.
4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them.
5. That is it. Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as a friend, and spread the love.

No questions to answer on this one! 🙂 Thank you, Shaun for creating an award such as this to spread the love around.

Here are my nominations who I feel are like family and have been very welcoming and fun to interact with in the blogging community.

– Ada, I would nominate you, but you’ve nominated me and been nominated…but…that’s probably not allowed. Haha.

LFFL: Loving Food, Fashion, & Life – LFFL blogs a lot about food and life…though I mostly read about her food, which all looks great! Every now and then, you get some random posts (e.g…. the joke post…hahaha LFFL)

Lorraine Reguly’s Life – I found the mystery behind the Liebster award on one of Lorraine’s blogs. She also has been quite helpful about blogging in general. Check out her blog for useful tips !:) Thanks, Lorraine!

Awesome Ashild – Ashild is an upbeat blogger and an exercise buff! Well, I’m only calling her an exercise buff because she has a 100 push up challenge going, which I totally wimped out of! Feel free to join her or cheer her on as I am! And check out her latest post on motivational messages. They are hilarious!

Thank you and Congrats to all~ 😀

Huh? Liebster Award? ^_^

I was sitting around one day trying to figure out what to cook for dinner when I was pleasantly surprised by an email notification from WordPress. It turns out that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Ada from More Food, Please!
Ada is a wonderful blogger who blogs about her own culinary creations as well as her fabulous explorations in the vast world of restaurants! Thank you, Ada! As a newbie blogger, I feel honored and hope you continue to blog as well as enjoy my posts~

Here are the rules associated with the Liebster Award (Copied and pasted from More Food, Please):
1. Each nominee must link back to the person that nominated them.
2. Answer the 10 questions which are given to you by the nominator.
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers you like and who have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Let them know that they have been nominated by going to their blog and notifying them.

What is your favourite quote?
“”Everything is but a dream within a dream” — Edgar Allan Poe

Who is your favourite author?
Hmm… I haven’t really read recently.

What is a song that has a lot of sentimental value for you?
“Moonlight Sonata” – Beethoven

If you had to name one essential beauty product, what would it be?
Lotion to counteract dry skin and keep it from cracking.

Do you prefer the country side or the city?
Does  “in between” count? I like a taste of both, but I like the bustle of the city and ease in walking to places there.

What is the saddest film you have ever watched?
Grave of the Fireflies was pretty sad.  I can’t recall if it was the saddest I have seen though.

If your house was on fire, what would be the three items you would save?
Phone, wallet, and computer. Note that if there were other people I care about in the house, I’d forego these items.

What is your favourite season of the year and why?
This actually depends on the location. Where I am currently, I would have to say fall. The weather is neither terribly hot nor cold, making it perfect for outdoor activities.

If you could do any job in the world, what would you choose?
I would be a super hero with super powers! Just kidding! Being a wandering freelance detective/traveler would be interesting.

Everyone has something that comforts them when they are ill, what is it that makes you feel better?
Friends and family…as long as I don’t pass onto the illness to them!

Now that those questions are answered, who shall be next! I would like to nominate the following for the Liebster Award (I couldn’t make it to 10 because most of the blogs I explored have either already been nominated or are over 200+ followers! I need to get out and read more!) . Please answer the same questions!

My Kitchen Ventures – Join Julie in her cooking adventures. Her chemistry knowledge will answer some those pressing questions you have about some of her recipes and how they taste great (see this post as an example!) Congrats, Julie! 🙂 Your blog is so fun to read!

What is the Liebster Award?

Now I will admit I had absolutely no idea what the Liebster Award is. So, I did a quick internet search and found the links below about the origin of the Liebster Award! Peruse at your leisure! What is the Liebster? Take a look as these two bloggers describe it as an internet chain letter award.
